The Churchwardens

The office of Churchwarden is an ancient one, dating from the early middle ages. As officers of the bishop and members of the Parochial Church Council, Churchwardens are charged with co-operating with the clergy and leading the laity in promoting the mission and ministry of the church in the local parish.
 The people of Oadby elect churchwardens every year at the Annual Meeting of Parishioners in April or May

Churchwardens for St Peter’s are sworn in by the Archdeacon

Churchwarden duties are shared by the Assistant Wardens.
